Met Andere Ogen

Campaign for an urban nature festival.

Nature is weird and wonderful. It’s just that us city dwellers have largely lost sight of the living world around us. At this festival at Amsterdam Science Park you could learn to see the city from the vantage point of non-human organisms. See ‘with other eyes’ (met andere ogen), so to speak. Alongside artists, local residents and scientists the visitor could build a different relationship with nature. Workshops, installations and interventions shifted attention from bricks and infrastructure to the critters, plants and soil.

Photograph of a woman on a bicycle passing a poster on a wall. The poster reads ‘Met Andere Ogen’.

As part of the promotion we handed out disposable camera’s to residents of the neighborhood where the festival was to take place.
We asked them to look at the nature in their urban surroundings.
Their photographs were used as part of the promotion for the festival.

Visitors to the festival navigated the area using a freely available map, and joined lectures, walks, performances and workshops.
