Better Future Now Festival

The winner takes it all, but is capitalism nearing its final days? If so, what could be an alternative system? Where do you begin? Maybe by breaking the rules of the game? Waag Futurelab organised a four-day festival aimed at playing games, considering their rules and then breaking them all!

Activities included large scale musical chairs (where there are always enough chairs), networking dinners for young professionals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds, an exhibition and game nights.

The festival was advertised online and with a city wide poster campaign and animations in metro stations in Amsterdam.

Part of the identity was a programmed visual filter that made the hundreds of images that were made and submitted part of the visual family.

Alongside a program for grown-ups, a workshop was created for children to help them think about making their own rules and what it means to break rules that are imposed on you.
